We also acknowledge the fact that you wish to be able to make enlightened choices concerning restrictions on the use of your personal data. This Privacy Policy is our current corporate policy on these matters. Who we are

The use of the words “we”, “us” and “our” in this Privacy Policy refers to The Hertz Corporation and the companies in which The Hertz Corporation holds a direct or indirect controlling interest. The latter companies are generally referred to as “subsidiaries”. We are engaged in car rental and building and industrial equipment rental activities, and provide, to a certain extent, retail car sale and claim management services. Our “franchisees” are independent companies which provide car rental and building and industrial equipment rental services and sometimes operate retail car sale businesses; they are authorised to provide such activities under a corporate name, trademarks and service marks that belong to us and often include the “Hertz” trademark. Our franchisees are independent; as a consequence they are not one of our subsidiaries and are not referred to by the words “we”, “us” and “our”. Our “affiliates” at this day are companies (other than our company) which control us or are controlled by the companies that control us; the words “we”, “us” and “our” do not refer to our affiliates.

This Privacy Policy merely sets forth our privacy practices and does not describe the privacy practices of our franchisees or affiliates (or of any or all party that does not correspond to the definition of the words “we”, “us” and “our”). Our franchisees and affiliates have their own privacy policy which may differ from ours. If you wish to learn more about the privacy practices of our franchisees or affiliates, you should review the privacy policies of the said franchisees or affiliates and not this Privacy Policy.

Generally speaking, you will know that you are dealing with one of our franchisees and not with us as our franchisees use terms such as “Hertz System Franchisees”, “Hertz Franchisees”, “Hertz Dealerships” and other similar terms. Our affiliates may operate under multiple denominations but they do not usually operate under a name that includes the “Hertz” trademark. If you have any queries as to whether a company belongs to our group or not, or whether a company is one of our franchisees or affiliates, you should write to us as indicated below under the section “Questions from customers”.

Scope and nature of the Policy

This Privacy Policy deals with the personal data we have collected from you and which concern you – individuals who are customers or potential customers of our rental services. The expression “Personal data” means data concerning an identified or identifiable individual and which are recorded in any format whatsoever. This Privacy Policy does not deal with personal data we have collected from our employees and which concern them. It does not deal with personal data we collect from customers of our other activities and which concern them either. This includes our car sales activity. Other corporate policies apply to the said type of data. This Privacy Policy does not deal with grouped data from which the personal data are extracted either. We reserve the right to use grouped data to advance our business interests.

We comply with the requirements of the “Safe Harbour Privacy Principles” which were published by the U.S. Department of Commerce on 21 July 2000 (the “Safe Harbour Principles”) concerning your personal data. As we comply with these Principles, this Privacy Policy includes examples of the types of data we can collect and the types of companies to which we may disclose the said data if and when we transfer information from European Union countries to the United States. These examples are given for information purposes only and should not be considered to be a comprehensive list of our collection or information-sharing practices. As a consequence, the words “includes/include” and “including/in particular” mean that the list is not limited to the examples given.

We do not intentionally ask for personal data concerning persons under 13.

When used in this Privacy Policy, the words “company and companies” mean any or all company or companies, limited company or companies, partnership or partnerships or other similar entity or entities.

Data collection:

Types and sources of the data collected

In the normal course of our business, we collect your personal data including:

the information you provide such as your full name, address(es), employer(s), employee identification number(s), telephone number(s), fax number(s), email address(es), date and place of birth, driving licence number, passport number, your credit card details, information concerning the loyalty programme and other award programmes and memberships of companies or associations; information concerning transactions with our services, our affiliates or other entities, such as the pick-up and drop-off locations, dates and times of your rental car, the airline companies you used, the flight numbers, the rental costs charged and the information we receive from our consumer-reporting agencies, such as your creditworthiness and your credit history.

We collect your personal data from a variety of sources: websites we operate, websites that are operated by other companies which you might use to book a car rental with us or our franchisees, computer booking systems used by travel agents to make a booking with us or our franchisees, telephone calls to our booking and help centres, registration forms to Hertz #1 Club®, #1 Club Express®, #1 Club Gold® and similar programmes, rental agreements with us and our franchisees, other agreements with us and our franchisees, accident and incident reports concerning the rental cars you have rented via our services or those of our franchisees, and consumer-reporting agencies. We also collect your personal data from other companies with which we have business relations.

Use of “cookies” and other tracking technologies

Use of “cookies” and other tracking technologies. We and our agents use “cookies” to track the clickstreams of actual and potential customers who visit our websites or receive our commercial emails in an html format (“html email”), and to facilitate their use of the services offered on our websites or in relation with the html email. A “cookie” is a set of data that a web server stores on your computer and which then allows the said server to recognise your computer. The “cookies” enable a website to “remember” the data you have entered when you change page or when you come back to the website using the same computer. When used with the html email, the “cookies” can “remember” your answers to this type of email. Generally speaking, all the data that constitute a “cookie” would not mean anything to anybody apart from the party who/which placed the “cookie”. A “cookie” cannot collect other data on the hard disk of your computer or transfer computer viruses.

Two different types of “cookies” are used at the same time on our websites:

“Session cookies” track the clickstream of the user on our websites during one, single visit. These “cookies” enable us to store certain information when the user moves from one page to the next. With the majority of web browsers, the “session cookies” are deleted or made inaccessible for us and our agents as soon as the user closes his/her browser.

“Persistent cookies” enable us and our agents to remember a user when they visit the website again. “Persistent cookies” are not deleted or made inaccessible automatically when the user closes his/her browser even if the said “persistent cookies” generally “expire” after a certain number of years. When they have expired, the said “cookies” may be deleted by the user’s browser or made inaccessible for us and our agents. (If you do not want these “cookies” to be stored on your computer, you can delete them using the settings of your browser.)

The “session cookies” and the “persistent cookies” may also be used in conjunction with the html email that is sent by us and our agents.

Your browser or the software you install may enable you to restrict the use of “session cookies”, “persistent cookies” or any or all “cookies”. If you choose to disable the use of “session cookies”, you will not be able to use our websites or certain features of our html emails. If you choose only to disable the use of “persistent cookies”, you will still be able to enjoy all the features on our websites and html emails, but you will be required to enter certain data when you start a new session or open an html email again.

In addition, certain of our web pages and certain of our html emails have “pixel tags”, “web beacons” or other technologies (referred to collectively as “pixel tags”) which allow us and our agents to track the actions of the users of our websites and recipients of our emails. Pixel tags are used to collect anonymous data which, when they are compiled with similar data collected from other website users or email recipients, enable us to ascertain the most popular destinations, average rental prices, quotes and conversion rates, click-throughs and other information which can be used to improve the service we offer our customers. Furthermore, our online and email advertisement providers may use pixel tags that are connected to our websites and to our emails in order to manage our online and email advertising campaigns and strengthen their effectiveness. For example, if a provider has placed a specific “cookie” on your computer, the pixel tag technology will enable it to recognise this “cookie” during your visit to one of our websites and then ascertain which online Hertz advertisement has brought you to the website (if such is the case). We do not use and we ensure that our agents are prohibited from using pixel tags to collect your full name, email address or any or all other personal data directly. However, we can link your anonymous data that we and our agents have collected using pixel tags or “cookies” with your personal data that we have collected at an earlier date.

Other company websites:

Our websites and html emails may contain links to other company websites that may be operated jointly with our websites or not. We do not monitor or control the information collected when you choose to click on links and be directed to the said websites. The processing of user data by the operators of the said company websites may be different to our procedures. For further detailed information concerning the manner in which they process your personal data, you should read their privacy policy or contact them.

Data storage:

If we keep your personal data as long as we believe appropriate, we do not keep your personal data longer than is allowed by the legislation of the country and State in which the said data are kept. Our main databases for storing your personal data are currently located in the State of Oklahoma, United States of America.

Data security:

We maintain reasonable physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your personal data from any or all loss, misuse and unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. Within the framework of these measures, we endeavour to protect your personal data using technologies that are designed to protect the data while they are being transmitted. We restrict access to your personal data to employees on a “need-to-know” basis so that we are able – ourselves and our franchisees – to provide you with the services. We have also implemented a policy according to which the misuse of your personal data by an employee is considered to be a serious wrongdoing leading to possible disciplinary measures. You should however know that there is no completely secure method to transmit or store data. Although their physical characteristics are all quite different, postal mail, telephone calls, fax messages and transmissions over the Internet all carry a risk of loss, misrouting, interception and misuse of the data that are transmitted.

When you are asked to give data or when we provide you with data, or when we decide on the manner in which to ask you to give data or provide you with data, we try to strike a balance between the security of your data and your convenience. We do this because we believe our customers value both. As a consequence, we sometimes use a communication method that is not as secure as certain of its less convenient alternatives. A key example in this respect is the case of emails. When we send you an email, it is sent in a non-encrypted format. We do this because we believe that a large number of our customers are currently unable to receive an encrypted email. Consequently, if a non-encrypted message to you were to be misrouted or intercepted, it would be easier to read than an encrypted email. In addition, as the emails we send you and we receive are not encrypted, do not indicate your #1 Club member number of any or all other information that you consider to be confidential in the emails you send to us. To communicate with us via the web, the safest way is to click on the “Contact Us” link on the home page of our website and fill in the form you will find there.

In order to effectively protect your personal data, we need your help. Never disclose under any circumstances whatsoever your Hertz personal identification number (or “PIN”) or password and exercise due care and common sense when you disclose your Hertz #1 Club, #1 Club Express or #1 Club Gold number, or your membership number of a similar programme to third parties. Please note that if you disclose your membership number to third parties, the latter shall not be bound by this Privacy Policy and shall, as a consequence, be able to misuse such information and jeopardise your account with us. In all events and insofar as you have a valid reason to disclose your membership number to a third party, you should carefully review the privacy policy of the said third party before making any or all disclosure to ascertain how the third party intends to process the information disclosed. If you have reasons to believe that an account with us is no longer secure, you should immediately inform us of the problem by clicking on the “Contact Us” link on the home page of our website or, if you do not have Internet, by calling (800) 654-4173 (if the call is made from the United States of America) or +1 (405) 775-3400 (if the call is made from elsewhere), or by writing to us at the most appropriate address from the four listed in section “Questions from customers” below (we inform you that if you send your letter by post, the time required to solve the problem will be delayed).

Use of data:

Parties to which we disclose your data

We may disclose any or all of your personal data as stipulated herein below to third parties such as:

financial service providers such as banks and insurance companies, non-financial companies such as Hertz franchisees, direct sellers, hotels and airline companies; and other bodies such as non-profit associations.

Type I uses

We may use personal data for various purposes as laid down in this section and in particular, but not limited to, to confirm and process your rental bookings and rentals, provide you with customer assistance, prepare your account statements and develop and ensure the maintenance of the software. We may use the services of our affiliates within our corporate family and non-affiliated parties to perform these services on your behalf. We may also disclose information in response to requests from law enforcement agencies or governmental control bodies. A more detailed description of the uses mentioned hereinabove and all the “Type I uses” is given hereinafter.

When we disclose your personal data to a third party for an initial or protective use (as described in the corresponding paragraphs below), the third party’s privacy policy and not ours shall apply to any or all use or subsequent storage (including disclosure) of the data.

When you make a rental booking or rent using our services or those of our franchisees, you consent to the use we make of your personal data and their disclosure for all type I uses. If you do not wish to give your consent to such a use and disclosure of your personal data, do not make a rental booking or rent using our services or those of our franchisees.

Initial uses. We may initially use the personal data we collect about you to make rental bookings with our services

and those of our franchisees, to process transactions relating to the rentals with our services and those of our franchisees; to provide you with rental services that are superior to those you have asked for such as Hertz #1 Club, #1 Club Express, #1 Club Gold and similar services; and to bill and collect the amounts that are owed to us for your rentals. As a consequence, if you ask to pay for your rental costs by debit card, credit card or bank card, we might disclose your personal data to the company which issues the cards and to other companies which help with the processing of the costs. Likewise, if you ask for the rental costs to be billed to a third party, we might inform the third party in question and the companies which help the third party to process the invoices of your personal data. Furthermore, if you are part of a loyalty programme, a similar programme or other reward programmes that are operated by a third party and if you ask to receive a discount based on a transaction made with our services or those of our franchisees, we may disclose your personal data to the operator of the programme and to the companies which help it operate the programme, in order to enable you to receive the said discounts. Moreover, if you choose to book with us via or with the assistance of a third-party booking system, travel agent or other intermediary, we may disclose your personal data to the said intermediary in order to make, modify or cancel a booking that was made by or with the help of the intermediary, answer questions or remarks made by the intermediary on your behalf, simplify any or all other task that the intermediary indicates you have asked him/her/it to carry out, or that such an intermediary would generally speaking perform within the framework of the practices of our industry, and pay any or all commission or any or all other cost that we might owe to the intermediary.

Protective uses. We may use and disclose your personal data in the manner we believe appropriate to protect our activities; to comply with applicable legislation; to protect your rights, privacy, safety and assets and those of other persons; and to enable us to seek the remedies available or limit the loss or damage we might incur. For example, if you breach a rental agreement or another agreement you have signed with us or any one of our franchisees or affiliates, your personal data may be used, disclosed to third parties or to the public insofar as this is necessary to ensure that the said agreements are enforced and recover any or all amounts of money owed. We can also disclose, to the fullest extent permitted by the legislation, your personal data to law enforcement agencies to help them identify the persons who have been involved in illegal activities or which could be involved in such activities.

Disclosures in the event of acquisitions and sales of companies. In the normal course of our business, we may acquire or sell assets, including holdings in companies, and companies may acquire financial interests in our company. Within the scope of such transactions, your personal data may be included in the commercial assets transferred. We may disclose your personal data to any or all company within the framework of a contemplated or actual sale, merger, transfer or exchange of all or part of an activity or administrative unit if you deal or have dealt with the said company or administrative unit, but only if the said company accepts to use the said data before any or all acquisition merely to make its decision relating to the acquisition and to comply with the relevant provisions of our Privacy Policy governing data. In the case where your personal data is transferred to a company which acquires assets belonging to us, we shall ask the said company to comply with the relevant provisions of our Privacy Policy with regard to your personal data (in particular the choices you have made within the framework of our Privacy Policy to restrict the use of your data).

Disclosure to agents. We may disclose your personal data to any or all individual or to any or all company we hire to help us carry out our activities, including an individual or a company which provides marketing services on our behalf but only if the said individual or company consents to use your personal data merely to perform the tasks on our behalf and in line with our instructions, and to comply with the relevant provisions of our Privacy Policy governing data.

Use of data from other persons. We may obtain your personal data from our franchisees and affiliates and from other companies with which we are engaged in business relations, including our business partners, such as airline companies and hotels. The said data may be merged or used to strengthen the personal data we had collected beforehand to the extent permitted by law and our Privacy Policy.

Disclosure to Counter Discount Programmes sponsors. A “Counter Discount Programme” or “CDP” is an agreement or programme we have entered into in cooperation with a company or sponsorship or co-sponsorship association (the “sponsor”) according to which employees, members or other individuals, who are eligible to do so, are authorised to benefit from different rental rates than those that are generally offered to the public. Examples of CDP include special rates for companies and associations and discount rates with credit cards and travel clubs.

We are able to identify the CDPs by using specific numbers (“CDP numbers”) and we ask those who wish to benefit from CDP rates to provide us with the appropriate CDP number.

If you make a booking using a CDP number, please provide us with the CDP number which entitles you to rent or indicate to us in any or all other manner that you are eligible to rent under this CDP, that you consent to the disclosure of your personal data to the CDP sponsor in order to enable us and the sponsor (i) to verify your eligibility to rent using the said number or with this CDP; (ii) to confirm that we have complied with the CDP rental terms and conditions (which may include verifying the payment of the dividends we owe to the sponsor, based on all or part of your rental, and the possibility for the sponsor to contact you directly to enquire as to whether you are satisfied with your rental and for other quality control purposes); (iii) to confirm that you have complied with the sponsor’s rental policy; and (iv) to facilitate the payment by the sponsor of the refund of the costs of your rental that it granted to you (including if the sponsor is entitled to the payment of a dividend by us, to facilitate the payment of any or all portion of the said dividend that the said association has agreed to share with you). We demand that sponsors deal with the personal data that is disclosed to them for these purposes in a confidential manner and that they do not use them for commercial purposes.

If you do not wish us to disclose your personal data in the manner described in this sub-section, do not use a CDP number when you book your rental, do not provide us with a CDP number according to which you are entitled to rent and do not inform us in any or all other manner that you are entitled to rent under the said CDP. However, in such circumstances, you will not be able to receive the benefits of any or all associated agreement or programme.

Disclosure to affiliates. We may share your personal data within our group and disclose these data to our affiliates to enable us to perform the functions described hereinabove. In the event that your personal data is shared within our group or disclosed to our affiliates, the party to which we disclose and with which we share these data will be asked to comply with the relevant provisions of our Privacy Policy governing your personal data (in particular the choices you have made within the framework of our Privacy Policy to restrict the use of your data).

Type II uses

The uses of your personal data that are described in this section are called “Type II uses”. Type II uses concern the uses of your personal data for commercial purposes. You may choose “to opt out” of type II uses as stipulated herein below under the section “Options to limit the use of data”.

We may compile and analyse any or all personal data to enable us to develop targeted marketing programmes and services that we believe are adapted to the needs of specific groups of customers. We may then use your personal data to contact you about programmes and services (our own programmes and services as well as those of third parties) which, in our opinion, may be of interest to you. If you do not wish to be contacted by us for this purpose, you may choose option A described herein below in the section “Options to limit the use of data”.

We may share any or all of your personal data within our group and disclose these data to our affiliates and franchisees for commercial purposes provided that the affiliates and franchisees to which we disclose the data accept to comply with the relevant provisions of the Privacy Policy governing disclosed data (in particular the choices you have made within the framework of our Privacy Policy to restrict the use of your data). If you do not wish us to disclose your personal data to our affiliates and franchisees for commercial purposes, you may choose option A described herein below in the section “Options to limit the use of data”.

We may also disclose any or all of your personal data to companies which are not one of our affiliates or franchisees for commercial purposes. When we disclose your personal data to companies which are not one of our affiliates or franchisees for commercial purposes, we do not demand that these companies comply with specific policies concerning the use or disclosure of these data. They may deal with questions relating to privacy in a very different manner to the one we apply. If you do not wish us to disclose your personal data to companies which are not one of our affiliates or franchisees for commercial purposes, you may choose option B described hereinafter in the section “Options to limit the use of data”.

Sensitive data:

We may obtain information on your health. This is often the case when you ask for adaptations for a disability. For example, you might ask for a vehicle to be fitted with hand controls or that you are driven to a rental location or driven back from a rental location using an accessible means of transport. We do not disclose data concerning your health to our affiliates or business partners other than those which are authorised by the legislation relating to the “Safe Harbour Principles” and the applicable legislation, and we do not use the data concerning your health for commercial purposes. We may also obtain information concerning your membership of a trade union or another trade-union type association via the use of a CDP number that only the members of this association are authorised to use. We do not disclose data concerning your membership of a trade union to our affiliates or business partners other than those authorised by the legislation relating to the “Safe Harbour Principles” and the applicable legislation, and we do not use the data concerning this membership for commercial purposes.

In certain countries and States, we are legally bound to treat other personal data as sensitive and provide additional warranties during the collection and use of these data. We shall comply with these requirements. If a country or a State asks us to treat other personal data as sensitive and not to collect them, use them or disclose them without your consent, you shall be deemed to have consented – when you make your rental booking or when you book with our services or our franchisees and when you provide the said data – to the collection, use and disclosure of these data by us or by our franchisees, but only for type I uses. We do not disclose these data to our affiliates or business partners otherwise than in accordance with the applicable legislation and we do not use these data for commercial purposes. If you do not wish to consent to the collection, use and disclosure of these data for type I uses, then you should not provide these data; if a booking or a transaction relating to a rental cannot be made without these data under the terms of our policies or those of our franchisees, do not make the rental booking or do not rent with our services or those of our franchisees.

Options to limit the use of data:

Options and their effects. You may select one of the following options or both of them to restrict the use of your personal data:

  1. You may ask us not to send you offers or promotional materials within the framework of our rental activities and not to disclose your personal data, which we have collected during our rental activities, to our affiliates or franchisees for commercial purposes. In such a case, we shall not send you offers or promotional materials within the framework of our rental activities and we shall not disclose your personal data, which we have collected during our rental activities, to our affiliates or franchisees for commercial purposes, once your request takes effect. (However, we are not liable for any or all subsequent use of data by affiliates or franchisees which were disclosed to them before your request took effect).

You may ask us not to disclose your personal data, which we have collected during our rental activities, to companies which are not our affiliates or franchisees for commercial purposes. In such a case, we shall no longer disclose your personal data, which we have collected during our rental activities, to the said companies for commercial purposes once your request takes effect. (However, we are not liable for any or all subsequent use of data by third parties which were disclosed to them before your request took effect).

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that, if you give the instruction stipulated in option A hereinabove, you run the risk of not receiving offers and services which might be of great interest for you, and in particular the Hertz #1 Awards® points and free rental days which we would otherwise offer within the framework of the Hertz #1 Club Gold Five Star, Hertz #1 Club Gold President’s Circle, Manhattan Gold and Islander Gold programmes and similar loyalty programmes.

How to choose an option. If you are a member of Hertz #1 Club, #1 Club Express, #1 Club Gold or a similar programme, you can choose option A, option B or both options by sending the enclosed form to the following address: Director, Privacy Services, in charge of the main office of our Company in the country or region where you live or by going to the Update section of your customer profile in the section of your programme on the website and giving the desired instructions. You can also make your choice by sending the enclosed form to the most appropriate address from the following four: 1) Director, Privacy Services, The Hertz Corporation, P.O. Box 25301, Oklahoma City, OK 73125, United States of America; 2) Director, Privacy Services, Hertz Europe Service Centre, Swords Business Park, Swords, Co. Dublin, Republic of Ireland; 3) Privacy Compliance Officer, Hertz Australia Pty Limited, Level 6, 10 Dorcas Street, South Melbourne VIC 3205, Australia; or 4) Director, Privacy Services, Hertz New Zealand Ltd., Private Bag 4716, Christchurch, New Zealand 8020. Any or all instruction sent by post shall take effect at the end of the 45th working day from the date your instruction is received at one of the given addresses, or after a shorter period as laid down by the applicable legislation.

If you are not a member of Hertz #1 Club, #1 Club Express, #1 Club Gold or a similar programme and you wish to choose option A, option B or both options in association with a rental, please inform the rental representative when you rent. We shall register the choices you have made and shall apply them to the said rental. If you register on the Hertz #1 Club programme we are currently able to record the options you have chosen. We do not charge a fee to register on the Hertz #1 Club programme; we do not ask for information that we would not normally collect with regard to your rental; and we shall not use the data obtained by your registration in a manner that contradicts the options you have chosen. If you make a subsequent booking with our services using the Hertz #1 Club number we shall give you, the options you have chosen shall be automatically applied to the following rental data. We reserve the right to change the manner in which we record your choices. If that is the case, you might be asked to make new choices each time you rent and the choices you make will only apply to this rental.

Subsequent choices. If you are a member of Hertz #1 Club, #1 Club Express, #1 Club Gold or a similar programme and you have chosen option A, option B or both options to restrict the use of your personal data, and then you choose different options or you decide not to restrict the use of your personal data, we shall comply with your last effective choice as if it were the sole instruction we had received from you concerning the use of your personal data.

Options chosen by the sponsor of the Counter Discount Programme

If (i) you are a member of Hertz #1 Club, #1 Club Express, #1 Club Gold or a similar programme; (ii) your member profile contains a counter discount programme (CDP) number; and (iii) the sponsor of the CDP has chosen option A, option B or both options to restrict the use of your personal data, we shall comply with the sponsor’s choices insofar as they are more restrictive than the choices you have made. (For example, if the CDP sponsor has chosen option A, you will not receive communications from us concerning offers and services such as the Hertz #1 Awards points and the free rental days provided within the framework of loyalty programmes, even if you have not chosen option A.) We shall continue to comply with the sponsor’s choices until the latter modifies them so that they become less restrictive than the choices you have made or you delete the sponsor’s CDP number from your member profile.

Options to limit the use of data for non-commercial purposes. We shall not use your personal data for non-commercial purposes unless: (i) we inform you of this use and give you the possibility of instructing us not to use your personal data; or (ii) the applicable legislation or, where applicable, the “Harbour Safety Principles” authorise us to use your personal data without giving you the possibility of instructing us not to do so. Please note that type I uses of your personal data laid down in our Privacy Policy are uses that are authorised in this manner.

How to access or correct your data:

We take reasonable care so that the personal data we hold about you are as accurate, up to date and complete as possible for the purposes for which we use the said data. You have a reasonable right to access and review the personal data we have collected about you. You may correct the factual inaccuracies in these data by sending us a request that highlights the said inaccuracies in a clear manner. Contact our main office in the country in which you live to obtain information on how to exercise these rights. You can also obtain this information by writing to the most appropriate address from the following four:

  • 1) Director, Privacy Services, The Hertz Corporation, P.O. Box 25301, Oklahoma City, OK 73125, United States of America;
  • 2) Director, Privacy Services, Hertz Europe Service Centre, Swords Business Park, Swords, Co. Dublin, Republic of Ireland;
  • 3) Privacy Compliance Officer, Hertz Australia Pty Limited, Level 6, 10 Dorcas Street, South Melbourne VIC 3205, Australia; or
  • 4) Director, Privacy Services, Hertz New Zealand Ltd., Private Bag 4716, Christchurch, New Zealand 8020.

To protect your data and security, we shall take all reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting you a right of access or a right to make corrections.

If you are a member of Hertz #1 Club, #1 Club Express, #1 Club Gold or a similar programme, you can update these data in your member profile by going to the Update section of your member profile in the section of the programme on the website.
